Surface treatment

The quality of the baking surface has everything to do with your operating results. If the quality leaves to be desired, it will have consequences for the production rate and the quality of the end product. In this case the production costs will rise, on the one hand from the necessity to use grease, and one the other hand from the pollution due to the use of lubricants such as oil and grease.

The knowledge that every baking surface is made-to-measure, has led Kaak to make an in-depth study into anti-stick or depan coatings. Years of research and market experience have contributed - in cooperation with selected suppliers - to a number of coatings designed exclusively for Kaak, which guarantee optimal depanning for every product and every type of pan. Depending on the coating selected, in combination with the product, greasing is made wholly or partially redundant. It is self-evident that operating results are at the least as important as depanning qualities and hygiene

The coating is applied by means of a balanced multi-layer system. For a good adhesion of the coating the surface condition is of overriding importance. For this reason the first step in the coating process is a thorough cleaning of the surface. After this first step a primer layer is applied, which ensures optimal adhesion between the baking pan and the anti-stick coating. Depending on the specifications one or several layers with specific depanning qualities are subsequently applied. Finally the coating is enamelled, creating a homogeneous and durable coating with excellent rising, baking and depanning qualities.

The applied coating is, as has been said, product dependent. Throughout the years, we have developed a number of different coatings. We distinguish Teflon, resin and rubber silicone coatings.

The exterior of the baking pan is usually enamelled black, to ensure optimal heat transfer. We will be more than happy to advise you on the most suitable coating for your utilization.

At the Kaak Group, both the components and the processing of silicones are of consistent quality. As the product components as well as the total baking process are of considerable influence on the depanning and life span of the pans it is not possible to give a guarantee on the depanning result and the number of cycles.
